A Socialistic Society Is Imminent – Like It Or Not

Are we careening toward a socialistic society? Can logical argument or moral reasoning set us on a path of a more sustainable ideology?

One of my kids is visiting this week from out of state. We are different but the same. Kind of. The first night he was here, he started going into politics. We think very differently when it comes to political and social views. I found myself trying to change the subject because listening to someone who has bought into so many issues I reject is hard.

Later, I realized I shouldn’t be so one-sided. Getting this boy started is like asking for a marathon of verbal torture. 😆 He’s very passionate and a little hardheaded, like his dad. Last night I let him go on, trying to listen more than giving my views. If you know me, you understand how keeping quiet is pretty tough.

Without going into many details, he’s for much of the government spending and fears if the Republicans get back in, he’ll lose money and benefits.

What struck me most was, according to him, most of his generation has that socialistic view, although he doesn’t use those words. He doesn’t work and says most of his friends don’t want to work.

I’d dismiss that logic if we weren’t witnessing exactly that every time we walk into a business these days. Just this morning, my dog’s veterinarian appt was canceled for the third time because they don’t have the staff to open today. Grocery stores are finding automated solutions because there aren’t enough cashiers. Restaurants are closing lobbies during the day because there isn’t enough help.

There’s no shortage of people. The roads are crowded beyond capacity. There’s no shortage of spending. I have no idea how many of these people can afford gas in their tanks, much less have the money to mindlessly shop and sit in line at Starbucks every day.

Our biases, or worldview, has always been based on selfish and personal agendas, but I think things are moving faster toward socialism than many of us want to admit.

So What’s Changed?

Are these socialistic viewpoints among our younger generations coming from tech? Did we raise them wrong? Have they been indoctrinated? Or are they out of necessity?

I think all are true. Without sounding like a conspiracy nut, I also think the indoctrination of our children comes from an agenda that’s a little hard to believe.

With the explosion of AI, robotics, and overall technology, the exchange of time for money and payment for skill is diminishing. Eventually, we’ll have far more people sitting idol than the current system will support.

Now enter government Universal Basic Income (UBI) and Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). I don’t know whether Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) or some new version of fiscal policy will pay for these control tools. Maybe confiscation of land and assets will be required? Who knows. The phrase, ‘By 2030, you’ll own nothing and be happy,’ is becoming closer to reality than ever.

One thing is certain, stopping or slowing technological development is an impossibility. Few of us would even try if we could. These advancements, in many cases, seem perfectly aligned with what many of us know as “The Great Reset.”

Change Is Disruption

The concept of disruption is necessary for our advancement. It’s a painful necessity. With each major leap forward in technology, old ways of doing things die off. It’s scary, and someday it will likely be our demise, but it will never stop.

From how to move from point A to point B to how to make an apple pie. It will all change. From how we communicate to how we handle healthcare. From how we secure food to how we pay for it. From how we educate to how we work. Disruption eventually shakes all of us from the individual to the largest empires.

Is It Too Late To Stop Moving Toward A Socialistic Society?

In short, yes. Generally, those who play the long game win. The powers that be have been playing the game for generations. The people have been programmed.

People are basic lazy idiots, generally speaking. They actually believe it’s the left against the right. Or that the government is either the enemy or here to help. They think the planet will self-destruct without the help of ‘experts.’

We are informed by headlines and clickbait. We get our news from agenda-driven media and other idiots on social platforms. People want to be taken care of at any cost. Like domesticated animals, we’re willing to forfeit freedom for comfort.

The Same Socialistic Society But Different

Today’s socialism, more precisely a version of democratic socialism, isn’t the old traditional Marxism–Leninism or authoritarian socialism, and I don’t mean to portray it as such.

Forget the ‘socialism from above’ or ‘socialism from below’ concepts because neither applies. Not completely. Imagine a younger generation tired of a capitalistic system that requires they must work for basic essentials and want to live a lifestyle free from obligations and responsibilities outside personal commitments.

Today’s push for socialism aims to remove or drastically reduce the gap between the haves and the have-nots. They want basic essentials to be freely handed out by the government without strings. Don’t want to work – no problem. You’ll still live with dignity, and society will provide.

I see a new kind of socialistic society coming. Look at California, but even more extreme and widely excepted. You will own nothing – not your home, food, or even your opinion. Not even your gender. Others will run every aspect of your life, even your children.

A lot of us might look at that and say, “That sounds wonderful, where do I sign up?” The problem is, in today’s economic structure, it’s not sustainable. Someone has to pay. There’s no incentive to live a productive lifestyle.

It’s also not fair. If someone becomes successful, they should pay. If I want to pass my wealth down to my children, my children should pay.

It’s Beyond The Powerful

We can blame the governments or evil organizations like the WEF, but how much of what we’re going through is part of natural evolution?

I can’t help but think about the advanced beings (The Talosians) on Star Trek with their weak little bodies and big brains. It’s just Hollywood, but the idea is solid.

Things will drastically change if we don’t kill ourselves during this part of our evolution. Whether that’s good or bad doesn’t mean squat. Whether there will be, resistance or rebellion is irrelevant. The fact remains we advance, or we end as a society.

What’s One To Do?

As a planet, things are going to move forward, like it or not. You could become president of the United States and still not affect the outcome.

What you can do is just be you. Live the life you want, and let the world worry about the world. Do your best, and don’t let policy or politics steal your joy. I’m not saying you should just give up and lie down. Choose your battles, starting in your own backyard. Literally.

Becoming less dependent on a system designed to rule makes you less vulnerable. Refusing to align your beliefs to have more makes you less controllable. Refusing to trade freedom for comfort keeps you strong. Not putting aside your faith because it goes against public policy keeps you on the path you want. You decide to be you. Let the left and right play for their puppet masters.

There’s little point in taking sides when the same people control the outcome and use the game to keep the filthy citizen weak. Don’t be fooled. Don’t play their game of divide-and-conquer.
